To Light or Not to Light---This Channukah/Xmas - Nittel Nacht

A Channukah approaches I have been hearing many shaylas of lighting one's menorrah at a hotel while they are t'urid in the casino.

Questions that are being asked:

1. If I get a free suite at Atlantic City but it is on the 40th floor should I light in that suite or request a suite on a lower floor but have to pay $250

2. Dealer is showing an "2" and I am showing a "9" and "2"(blackjack), and Zman Hadlaka has just approached, should I double down and then light or allow the chassidishe guy next to me to play my hand while I go and perform the mitzva.

3. If Zman Hadlaka approaches and a $5 table opens up that I have waiting for 1 hour, do I go and light and allow my fellow brother take my spot or sit down?

4. Am I Yotzai Hadlaka with my Cigar(which lasts 30 minutes) that I just bought at the gift shop? Persumai Nisa and there is
30 min, and Holchai Drachim in the market place.

5. Would it be a bizayon to play and sleep at Ceasar's Palace on Channuka/Xmas?

A lichdika Channuka!

what if you used your last dollar for blackjack right before the zman for hadlakah, and you win the hand, but its now after the zman.....do you buy a menorah, or do you buy a drink from the waitress passing by?

just out of curiosity, does anyone know what time maariv will be this year at the Bellagio?

To answer question #1,

Buy the drink and request a tea light from the waitress.

in general one should not rely on a miracle, but since its chanukah one should always hit, even on 17

Only if its a Cuban Cohiba or equivalent. A White Owl or equivalent would be an Issur D'Rabbonim.

Why must we belittle Chanuka?

Should we make up a gemara about Atlantic city as well just like made a bizayon was made of the gemara, the tannaim and the amoraim by thanksgiving?

Its Nacht not Nach. Clearly Mr. Mark's strong point is not Yiddish. Or perhaps he's a Nach Nach Nachman fan.

I love how silver spring is the only community one could go to and fine the "frum" jews celebrating thanksgiving, AND kratzmach!!!

And even if you want to tell me your all just kidding around, it is soooooooo wrong!

I want to thank Mr. Anonymous for correcting my yiddish. I have made the necessary adjustments.

Thanks

by going to atlantic city on the eve of kratzmach is not at all celebrating that holiday. take a chill pill. silver spring must also be the only community where the "frumsters" pounce on any opprotunity to bash the locals even when they are making a joke

yes you are right! Silver spring is the only community where the "frumsters" (the ones in the community who are actually frum) reprimand those that like to make jokes about being and acting like th goyim! Why is that true? Becuase you dont see such amoratzis in other "frum" communities! So yes, you are correct! Thats an excellent point and im so happy you relaize that this is the only community where it happens!

Do me a favor..put on a baseball cap and go down to AC Xmas night. You will fiind enough Minyanim for every type of nusach

How dare you denegrate Monsey Ir Hakodesh! They are very machpid when it comes to Nittle Nacht. They expand their horizons to Foxwood, Mohegan Sun and some even are moiser nefesh and travel to Nevada.
